1 Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how TRULY INC LIMITED (PARTNERUP) ("we", "us", "PartnerUp") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the PartnerUp app and related services (the "Service"). PartnerUp helps people find business partners, so a profile is meant to be seen by other users. This policy describes what that means and the control you have over it.

By using the Service you agree to this policy. It works alongside our Terms and Conditions.

2 Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up we collect your name and email address and create a sign-in identity for you. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive basic identity details from that provider.

Profile content

The information you choose to put in your profile, which may include your headline, what you offer and what you are seeking, skills, domains, commitment, venture stage, a general location you type in, written prompt answers, links to your work (such as LinkedIn, GitHub, or a website), a profile photo, and an optional short pitch video. Please share only what you are comfortable showing other users.

Activity on the Service

We record the actions that make the product work: your daily picks, nudges you send and receive, matches, messages with people you have matched with, your shortlist, profiles you view, and any reports or blocks you make. These let us run discovery, the handshake, and safety features.

Device and technical information

If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can alert you to nudges, matches, and your daily pick. We also process basic technical and log data needed to operate the Service securely and reliably.

Subscription information

If you buy PartnerUp Pro, the purchase is handled by your app store (Apple or Google) and our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (for example, whether you are an active Pro member). We do not collect or store your full payment card details; the app stores handle payment.

3 How we use information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account and profile;
  • power discovery, recommendations, and the daily curated pick, and show your profile to other users when it is discoverable;
  • run nudges, matches, and messaging, and enforce the consent-based handshake;
  • send notifications you have opted into, and important service or account messages;
  • provide and manage subscriptions and confirm your plan status;
  • keep the community safe: investigate reports, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms;
  • fix problems, understand how the Service is used in aggregate, and improve it;
  • comply with legal obligations.

4 How we share information

With other users

Your profile is visible to other signed-in users when it is complete and discoverable. People you nudge or match with see your profile and, after a match, your messages. Your email address, your push token, and your private activity (such as who you blocked or reported) are not shown to other users.

With service providers

We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf and under contract, only to run the Service. These currently include our backend and database host (Convex), our subscription provider (RevenueCat) together with the Apple App Store and Google Play, our push notification delivery service, and our email delivery provider (Resend). Providers may change as the Service evolves.

For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or PartnerUp, for example to respond to a valid legal request or to investigate abuse.

In a business transfer

If PartnerUp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will give notice if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5 Your choices and rights

You stay in control of your information:

  • Edit or remove profile content at any time from within the app, including your photo and pitch video.
  • Control your visibility by turning discovery on or off, so you decide when others can find you.
  • Manage notifications in the app and in your device settings.
  • Export your data using the in-app export, which gathers the information associated with your account.
  • Delete your account, which removes your profile from the Service, subject to the retention notes below.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app tools or contact us at support@partnerup.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

6 Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from the live Service, though limited copies may remain for a reasonable period in backups, or longer where we must keep records to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms (for example, a record that an account was banned for safety reasons).

7 Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in details private, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

8 Children

PartnerUp is for adults. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9 International transfers

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including where data protection laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

10 Changes

We may update this policy as the Service changes. When changes are material, we will give reasonable notice, for example in the app or by email, and we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
